Blobtrix is a Tetris-like "action game" for two players. Although it can only be played
on a LAN or on the Internet, many stand-alone servers are ready to serve you 24/7.
The public metaserver gives you a list of all the public servers with many rules
options. There is something for anyone.
Blobtrix differs from the original Tetris by many ways. Firstly, it is two-sided. One
player plays upwards and the other downwards. Secondly, the game isn't so slow - the
faster player with more skill wins. The possible speeds go from slow and relaxing to
the level in which you really have to trust your instincts.
The fact that you may choose the block you want to drop from the list
removes many random factors - it is hard to argue that you lost because of your worse
blocks!
Neither does it make the game any easier - you must play many pieces the same
time to survive.
Blobtrix was originally made for the block
game development competition organized by
Suomipelit.com and
Ohjelmointiputka in early 2004.
Uses:
SDL,
SDL_net,
SDL_image,
SDL_mixer.
